Luiz Ejlli (born July 12, 1985) is an Albanian singer.

Biography

Luiz Ejlli was born in Shkodra and between 1991 and 2002 he attended the "Prenk Jakova" secondary school in Shkodra. In 1995, he won the Best Voice Prize in "Child National Fesitival" in Shkodra. In 1998, he participated as a soloist in the "Gold Repertoire Chorus" in Shkodra. In 1999, he was a soloist (Tenor) in "Prenk Jakova" polyphonic chorus in Shkodra. Luiz came to fame in Albania when he participated and won the Albanian version of "Idol" in Tirana. After his win, he participated in the 43rd Albanian TV Music Festival, Festivali i Këngës, which also acts as the Albanian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest. He ended in second place with the song "Hëna Dhe Yjet Dashurojnë" (The Moon And The Stars Are Loving). Luiz participated in the Eurovision selection once again in 2005 and won with the song "Zjarr e ftohtë" (Fire and cold), which represented Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006,[1] but failed to make it past the semi-final stage. Ejlli was the first male contestant to represent Albania and the first with a song in Albanian.
